Dear Mixed Girl: Validation and Self-Worth
Dear Mixed Girl,
When are you going to believe that what you are seeking is already living inside of you?
Validation and needing approval from people can be so heavy, but some of us do that a lot.
Waiting for outside things to pour into you can be so defeating.
However, if the external validation is coming from God, there is much more to be said about who you are and who you are becoming – “enough-ness” is a given in these moments.
See yourself for who you are without ego or brokenness.
When you get to a new place of self-awareness, you will understand how wonderful you were created to be. (believe it.)
Sincerely,
Dr. KayLa N. Allen-Young,

Be blessed and be at peace.
Dear Mixed Girl® is a growing collection of reflections, reminders, and conversations created for girls navigating identity, belonging, self-worth, and the experience of growing into themselves in a world that does not always make space for complexity.
Created by Dr. KayLa N. Allen-Young, the Dear Mixed Girl® platform extends beyond the letters through speaking, coaching, workshops, and educational experiences designed to support girls, families, schools, leaders in children-centered organizations, and the environments that shape young people every day.
No matter where you are in your journey, you deserve spaces that remind you who you are—not spaces that make you question your worth.
