Parents raising mixed-race girls, the girls themselves, and every coach, counselor, or program director who serves them know identity questions appear everywhere—from living-room mirrors to classroom roll calls to college applications. Home life can bring relatives who debate “how Black” or “how Asian” she is; school hallways still echo with hair-pulls and “What are you, exactly?”; and adult workplaces too often reward code-switching over authenticity. Former Vice President Kamala Harris names the courage these moments demand: “Don’t let anybody tell you who you are; you tell them who you are.”

Hair-based teasing shows up as early as elementary school and correlates with higher distress for Black and multiracial girls.

Many caregivers still sidestep race conversations because they fear “getting it wrong,” leaving daughters to navigate alone.

Add the daily mental shift of code-switching, and the need for thoughtful, culturally proficient guidance becomes unmistakable.

Dear Mixed Girl® answers that need with four signature offerings:

  • Parenting Mixed-Race Daughters — Coaching Program (30, 60, 90 days): private guidance that turns everyday moments into confidence-building wins for parents and daughters.

  • “Dear Mixed Girl, What’s Your Identity?” Teen Coaching: a strengths-based path for girls 12–18 to claim “always-enough” worth and cultural pride.

  • Stronger Together Family Cohort: an activity-rich, four-week journey where parents and daughters learn side-by-side and complete a heritage “Ancestor Quest.”

  • Keynotes & Customized Workshops: fully hosted, fee-paid engagements that equip child-centered and multicultural organizations with true cultural proficiency.

As Meghan Markle reminds us, embracing blended heritage is about “voicing my pride in being a strong, confident mixed-race woman… I am enough exactly as I am.”

Stronger Together - Family Cohort Coaching Program

When school and medical forms force one box, classmates tug curls “to see what they feel like,” and caring parents aren’t sure how to begin open identity conversations, our one-month “Stronger Together” cohort brings together a minimum of three families so mixed girls and their caregivers can tackle these challenges side by side. Each two-hour weekly session blends kid-versus-parent games with guided culture quests and an Ancestor Quest showcase—transforming hair questions, code-switch fatigue, and “not-enough” worries into a shared family confidence plan everyone helps create. Enrollment is $500 per family (parent or guardian plus mixed daughter) and includes all materials for the four-week journey toward deeper understanding and lasting cultural pride.

Learn, Celebrate & Thrive Together.

A mixed-race girl’s confidence soars when the people who love her learn right beside her. This four-week, activity-rich cohort invites at least three families to:

Translate strengths into shared victories through kid-versus-parent challenges.

Explore hair symbolism and heritage in ways that build respect—not awkwardness.

Map a “both-and” family identity where every culture has equal space.

Create a Family Confidence Plan for real-time questions, bias, and brave conversations.

Each two-hour gathering blends fun, reflection, and a month-long Ancestor Quest that ends with artifacts, essays, and stories you’ll treasure for years.

– Ideal for families and chosen families of mixed girls ages 12–18

Advanced Professional Development in Emotional Intelligence and Cultural Proficiency: Structured Support for Professionals Serving Children and Families

This 12-week intensive blends leadership development, cultural proficiency training, applied education, and structured executive support for professionals working in children-centered systems. Clients engage in rigorous self-examination, systems analysis, and emotional intelligence development while receiving individualized guidance that strengthens professional effectiveness and personal sustainability.

This experience is designed for clinicians, practitioners, administrators, directors, executive leaders, and mental health professionals who operate in complex environments where children and families are at the center.

The outcome is measurable growth in emotional regulation, culturally responsive decision-making, ethical steadiness, and sustainable professional practice.

Core Pillars

Strengthen your capacity for emotional regulation, calibrated response, and relational steadiness in high-intensity settings. Develop the ability to manage emotional contagion, navigate conflict without escalation, and lead interactions with children, families, and teams from a grounded, non-reactive position.

This pillar focuses on translating emotional intelligence from theory into observable professional behavior.

Examine how identity, lived experience, institutional culture, and implicit bias shape professional judgment, communication patterns, and decision-making. Build the capacity to lead and serve children and families with clarity, humility, and structural awareness rather than assumption or habit.

This pillar moves beyond performative inclusion toward integrated cultural proficiency within everyday practice.

Enhance your ability to think systemically in environments where policies, pressures, and people intersect. Develop frameworks for navigating moral complexity, institutional constraints, and emotionally charged decision-making while maintaining integrity and professional clarity.

This pillar strengthens ethical steadiness under pressure.

Address the intersection of professional responsibility and personal life. Examine energy expenditure, boundary patterns, recovery rhythms, and long-term sustainability in high-demand roles serving children and families.

The goal is not short-term performance, but decades-long capacity.

Strengthen your ability to cultivate emotionally intelligent teams. Develop strategies for conflict navigation, accountability, mentorship, and communication that promote psychological safety without sacrificing standards.

Children-centered environments require adults who can regulate themselves while supporting others. This pillar builds that capacity.

Integrate emotional intelligence and cultural proficiency into leadership presence, policy conversations, strategic planning, and organizational influence. Develop the confidence and clarity required to advocate for children and families while maintaining credibility across interdisciplinary spaces.

This pillar ensures that internal growth translates into measurable external impact.
